I've been getting a lot of comments like this. The intention and audience is outlined at the beginning of the article. I wrote this for my friend who doesn't understand the Black Lives Matter movement, and the intention is to provide a resource for people to explain to unenlightened white folx why race is still important in the current political conversation. This is why I concede a lot of points in the beginning and don't address the FBI crime statistics. The title and the entire article was written to appeal to people on the right. It's not meant for people who already understand the issues very well, it's intended to be a primer for people who are new to the subject. It's written in a way that's meant to make white people feel comfortable so they can engage with the ideas and eventually reach a point where they understand all the complexities. It's not written for you; it's written for your brother-in-law's cousin who voted for Ron Paul in 2012.
