Such an important point. The point about Paul's followers deciding the future course of Christianity makes a lot of sense. To my (very cursory) understanding, he's responsible for a lot of the homophobia and other nastiness that gets attached to Christianity. I didn't know that the early struggles had a gendered dynamic; I wonder how much that contributes to the strong patriarchal focus in modern Christianity. I really appreciate you sharing these insights on something that's sensitive for you. It's valuable.
